US version was released on February of 1999, so anything later like this one is of course just the final version. Pretty stupid price unless you like wasting money IMO.
One of my favorite games of its time, I loved trying to collect the unlocks and find all the secrets. A bit steep, for sure, unfortunately.
Waaayyy too much. Unless it had like a debug menu or something. It's most likely the final game or review code :/
I'm a collector on Racing games and I heard about this before, This game is pure rubbish on the final retail version and controls delay around two seconds when turning left or right even braking point on the apex before you exit is too slow. The only different between this Work in Progress and retail version is add another difficult mode as called (Ultra speed challege) and (darker bold text) in gameplay to make it stand out abit more for gamers to see easily during the gameplay. Somebody has already release the files of this some time ago I think. This don't have debug option to it. It was release on 24th March 1999, so it will be exact 15 years ago in tomorrow and I can remember getting it from Virgin Mega Store. I guess it make sense that seller is selling this prototype mark under 15th Anniversary. However this is interesting This prototype date says 06/04/1999 - that is Tuesday 6th April 1999 or Friday 4th June 1999 ?!? Final version release in Wednesday 24th March 1999 Does not make sense right ? unless someone correct me here because either I confused or I just being a retard with those release dates. I will Pass.
My guess is that PAL region games have a later release date compared to the US region, thus the confusion of date?

Thanks for update. I pretty sure My parents bought me this game on 24th March 1999 when i was 8 at the time. I might be wrong though. Even IGN has same date as 24th of March 1999.. strange.
Gamefaqs date is either incorrect or in UK date format (DD-MM-YY). Games release on Fridays in the UK, April 9th 1999 was a Friday. Official UK sales charts have Beetle Adventure Racing at 5th in N64 chart for week ending 17th April 1999 (UK chart runs through Saturdays), from 7th the previous week (ending 10th April 1999).
