With the progress being made in the open source implementation of the Morrowind engine (OpenMW)

I was wondering if storage space not with standing, a port of this engine could be made to the dreamcast? I feel that this would be a great benefit to the community to have a game such as this on our beloved system.

The homebrew ports we do get, do not typically push the system to the limits much due to most people using the kallistios library which while being very robust, doesn't have the same power as the official Sega Katana or Microsoft Windows CE environments. Hence why Homebrew looks like something that isn't particularly pushing the limits of the system.

Now, as far as Morrowind? You are asking for a game to be ported that needed something as powerful as a PC or Xbox to run. Don't get me wrong, its not the most polygon pushing game of it's time out there but the Dreamcast is simply not powerful enough for a game of that scope.

16mb of ram is pretty paltry. A world of that size and detail is impossible to run on that hardware with those graphics/shaders. I am still amazed that Shenmue could get away with so much using clever rendering tricks.
