While reading the wikipedia article for mortal kombat trilogy, there was information about a beta of the game with different stuff, and when I clicked on one of the images, it was mentioned said image (the character selection screen I believe) was taken with an emulator.

looking at the graphics, it is safe to say this was not the nintendo 64 version, but rather the playstation or the saturn version.

Is there anyone here who know where such a thing could be found? like, a site where I could get a cd image of said beta?

I am quite new to the forums so please forgive me if asking these things is not allowed.

As an MK fan I'd be curious as to the development process on Trilogy. It seems to use the Ultimate MK3 engine with character tweaks (Motoro throws excessively in Trilogy) as well as adding the backgrounds and characters from the previous games.

In a way MK Trilogy is like Mugen before Mugen existed. For those not familiar with it, Mugen is a pc engine that lets you use characters from different fighting games against eachother with your own selected backgrounds etc.

It definitely use the umk3 engine. in fact, there were revisions of the playstation and saturn (as well as version 1.1 of the pc version) that tweaked the gameplay to be closer to that of umk3
