    Fox news, nuff said.

Claimed that record-breaking sky diver reached 1.25 the speed of light. Claimed that Columbia was going 25x the speed of light when it broke up. Claimed a lot of things that are really BS caused by idiots who don't check facts at all.

Mainly just hooning stories that annoy me. They show the same clips every time the topic shows up, it's like they think if they change the clip to black and white, people will think it's different.

It's not even like it's hard to find them to make new footage, just walk outside and listen for the redlining and screeching! ;)

Especially those after news shows in Australia Today Tonight and ACA. They show stories about big drug lab busts or downloading things online then in the same story tell you how they did it so you can do it too!

Worst bullshit for me atm is fucking cops sitting on a country road waiting for drivers to go by because you're not ment to be on it (it goes into a farmland like area with some houses).

At the same time I get happy because it means they've obviously sorted out all the more important crimes here and they've caught the people that broke into my aunt's car twice and stole my spare laptop which should be returned to me soon right guys?

I never watch the news, they always paint this picture of a world full of lies, death and destruction when really there is much beauty to be found. Murderer this, rapist that, more job losses and failed politics; watching the news is like signing a contract with depression. That's my gripe, too much despair and not enough hapiness, it's like people only want to know what's wrong with the world.

I saw a news story about a "possible" chupacabra, complete with the most outrageous "possible" drawing of what it might look like. It was on the local news, a usually reputable source. The drawing was a cross between a gremlin and mini-dragon...heh. If you don't know what that is, look it up.

Of course, there's this famous news fail:

I am a Media Researcher, or at least I was when I studied.

I live in Mexico. Mainstream TV News here is pretty much an insult to shit. It's like a Huxley style Fox-News wet dream combined with tabloids and those shitty "Cops"-type TV shows. Some of the shit we see here, however, is still not as bad as what I've seen from Fox News. But most of it is on the same ballpark.

Especially, mexican news media during election cycles, '06 and '12 come to mind, practically redefines the word "biased". The liberal candidates are almost Emmanuel Goldstein, and viewers get their hour of hate even from soap operas on the channel. You get to see characters telling you who to vote for as part of the plot.

Coincidentally, back when I was still in university, I did some research in the portrayal of candidates in American cable news during the '04 election cycle, and became addicted to CNN. I memorised the anchors and the news-cycles I still watch it. Nothing is better to put me to sleep. Hell, I'm listening to Fareed Zakaria's quiet, soothing drone, waiting for Reliable Sources to come on, if I don't fall asleep before.

    Indeed, mate, indeed.

Same stuff in our media. It's fanatic-o-rama, as long as it serves the government and business. And it's manipulation and scams and political pandering, and a lot of people do fall for it.

I suppose I could share my story here now. Awhile back the local Tv station wanted to an interview with gamers and see how it "effects" their everyday lives. I got chose and almost went through with it till I found out they were trying to making everyone look like nut job addicts. Then I just screw it and forgot all about it. Saw the full interview and it was full of the BS you hear now days. "Oh he plays that there pokemon, must mean he worships Satan or he's anti religious." "He plays shooters better keep an eye on him he might go nuts and do a shooting at his school." same crap like that pretty much.
