There are alot of very difficult things to do in video games, alot of them tied to achievements In order to unlock all the songs to get the "Songs of the Battlefield" trophy in Metal Gear Solid 4 you need to get ALL the emblems. This involves (amongst others) staying prone for 60 minutes, staying in a box for 60 minutes, getting through the entire game with: No Continues No Alerts No Kills No healing items In under 5 hours Another emblem makes you complete the game in a time of 35 hours or more.Get ready to hide under a truck and leave your PS3 on overnight!
Final Fantasy XII(ps2): I am still trying to kill the monster "Thalassinon" in my NLBLLG(no licence board, low level game) challenge...
The N64 games Perfect Dark and Goldeneye are still, even after all this time, my two favourite games ever (not nostalgia talking, as I still play them both). And they have some brilliant built in cheats (that you have to unlock, remember when games had worthwhile unlockables instead of just trophies or achievement points?). Not only are the standard fist person shooter style cheats in there (such as Infinite Health, infinite Ammunition, Have All Weapons, etc), but you also get cheats that make the game harder! It might well sound stupid to those who've never played the games, but it's really a great idea, as it adds more challenge and so more replayablitiy for those who have played the games through many times and want more of a challenge. These cheats include Enemy Rockets (all enemies carry personal rocket launchers instead of normal guns), Enemy Shields (basically enemies have shields/armour so they are much harder to kill), and the brilliant fourth difficulty mode. See, both Perfect Dark and Goldeneye have three difficulty settings for their single player campaign, easy, medium, and hard. When you complete the game on hard, then you unlike a 'definable' difficulty option, where you choose the enemies Health, Damage they inflict upon you, and Accuracy (and also their Reaction times, on Goldeneye, but Perfect Dark doesn't have that setting). This has enabled players to create custom modes, and two of them (License to Kill, and Dark License to Kill) are very popular amongst the hardcore GE/PD fans. License to Kill: GoldenEye 007 Enemy Health: 0% Enemy Damage: 1000% Enemy Accuracy: 100% Enemy Reaction Time: 100% Perfect Dark Enemy Health: 10% (Perfect Dark won't allow you to set Enemy Health to less than 10%) Enemy Damage: 1000% Enemy Accuracy: 1000% Which means that the enemies can kill you in just one shot. On the plus side, any enemy will die from one shot from you. Dark License to Kill: GoldenEye 007 Enemy Health: 1000% Enemy Damage: 1000% Enemy Accuracy: 100% Enemy Reaction Time: 100% Perfect Dark Enemy Health: 1000% Enemy Damage: 1000% Enemy Accuracy: 1000% Now, even though you still die from one shot, the enemies are *very* hard to kill. LTK mode is HARD, but this is almost difficult beyond words. And if you want to make these modes even harder, you can give the enemies each a shield (they need twice as many hits to kill!) and/or enemy rockets. It's my aim to complete PD on DLTK, and then on enemy rockets. I'll never beat either challenge, I know that, but it's fun to try! People do though, and even speed run them (it's almost scary how good the very best players are), which to me is amazing. It would be so great if other first person shooters had options like these, to add re-playability, and to challenge the very best and most experienced players.
MGS4 wasn't bad. I wonder who was able to beat the endurance races from Gran Turismo 4 though (Nurburgring 24 real time hours challenge lol).
Well I had a goal to get all the cars and complete all the events in Forza 4. I was about 50% there, but then Forza Horizon came out and I shifted my goal to that game. Again, I was about 50% there, but then I got an Xbox One and now I have the same goal for Forza 5. I'm about 20% complete in Forza 5, but I fear that the same thing is going to happen.
Far Cry 2 has the most insane multiplayer trophy requiremnts and I done it back when I used to care about trophies. Soldier of Misfortune (Gold Trophy) Unlock field manuals for all weapons (Ranked match) Executions where quite hard because it's a player who is injured and dying on the floor, most times they are dead before then, also head shots count only as head shots and not as kills for some reason so you could have a weapon with 100 head shots and 0 kills which is odd. All explosives require 2 kills with one shot and the maps are quite large so getting 2 players together rarely happens, even if you killed 4 people with 1 explosive it only counts as 1 multi kill, alot of the time only 1 person would die and the other just injured.
I remember the 'Big one' for me in FFXll was getting the Tournsel , Also , equally annoying to get , was the Danjuro. Whrymhero blade was rather underwhelming by the time I got it .. ahhh FFXll , the game of frustration
you dont know, what "frustration" means, until you have fought Behemoth King in a 16 hours (realtime) battle at level 1 and without licenses: never ever again!!!! but you are right, the Tournesol and the Danjuro are very annoying to get in normal playthroughs. ironically, the completely useless Wyrmhero Blade becomes the best weapon in the game while playing NLBLLG,but even that cannot help with the never ending Thalassinon issue
Props to you , honestly ... I have patience , but not for Challenges like that ... Its like the knife only modes in RE games... Cool to see it done , but way to slow of pace for me ..
