Got a brilliant early christmas present today, there's a program called motioninjoy which enables you to use your ps3 controller on your PC. It worked fine for a year, I haven't updated anything since the last time I used it. It worked fine yesterday and for NO REASON WHATSOEVER it is constantly BSODing my computer TODAY. Has this happened to anyone today?
Nope. Update it to he latest version. Mine works perfectly and I use it for several games. The earlier releases were really buggy, but I never had issues with BSOD. It's probably the earlier versions not playing nicely with some M$ updates or something.
Your USB ports are probably screwed in some way, motionjoy works for me too. Although I am using another device than a Dual Shock 3.
Always has worked fine for me so must be a dodgy install for you. Try updating to the latest version like other members have said?
Guess what the problem is? Driver, no. Computer, no, Software, no. Controller itself, no. The Game Program, no. The fucking USB cable extension. It dawned on me that the problem only started when I used a different USB extension and I also realised that it doesn't charge my PS3 controller meaning it's probably USB 1.1.
Hahaha that's a great issue. Glad to see it's fixed. On another note, how on earth do you still have a 1.1 port? Does it run on coal and steam?
I don't have the port hence the computer BSODing I just have the cable unless that's what you meant didn't mean to be an a$$ i actually have no idea, i've googled it, chick yuet. some chinese toy making company, no other info to go on. I can't for the life of me remember where this cable came from. I should destroy it so no one else meets my fate, OR I can use it to sabotage people's computers! *schemes*
How can a USB extension cable be 1.1? Aren't they straight through connections no different from 70s level tech Atari 2600 extensions?
gauge of wire and quality of cable can impede signals over distances. If it's a cheap cable made in the 1.1 age, then it probably wasn't designed with the future in mind.
Slightly off topic: I assume your using Windows which is why your machine BSOD? Not including Microsoft, I would have assumed most modern OS's wouldn't allow you to crash and burn so easily.
Do you want me to ship you the cable so you can try it out? windows 7 64 bit home premium, oh it crashes and burns alright.
