Simple guide here, had a webcam I bought a few years back and barely used, and it is handy when making videos of something like a handheld portable system, where to you need both hands to use it properly, to have a video recording device which looks where you do and records. That is what this does. Used a Microsoft HD-3000 webcam, ripped it open, mounted it onto a slim piece of plastic and used a make-shift hinge from folded cardboard so can angle the camera as needed. Only issue is camera shake, you need to keep your head steady when in position! Yes, that is a new N64 portable handheld/tabletop console device i'm making, to sell. Details on my website in "commissions" tab. When system is finished in the coming weeks i'll upload a video of the system, as commissions, and use this new gadget I made (in under 2 hours). Thought i'd share this with you.
Innovation at its best lol. Way cheaper than a GoPro I'll give you that. I've also seen these on ebay before too http://www.ebay.com/itm/Liquid-Imag...ash=item5d500a7edc:g:ZqoAAOSwDk5UGa6C&vxp=mtr But I can only imagine how much fog will collect inside of them.
Thanks for sharing. It so happens that I have that very webcam in my desk drawer. It has gone unused for a while, so I might do something similar if I don't turn it into a home security camera.
Thanks for the comments and the likes I was surprised by how small the camera part is, given it records in HD quality; however it is a fixed range so you can't zoom (that i'm aware of) and there is no camera no-shake option so any movement with your head makes the camera shake so you need to keep your head still. In saying that, there are many many videos on YouTube when someone (including me for that matter) tries to show a system using one hand, or trying to play a game with one hand, which is difficult, especially if the system needs to be operated and held with two hands. I bought the webcam originally for a previous incarnation of my site, where people wanted live video feed of modding, which was a failure of an idea, so ditched it, didn't use the gadget since. It won't get much use now but at least it justifies its existence now! Tried to find some freeware webcam recording software for Windows 10, ones I found seemed to install bloatware which I deleted; put in the old CD for the webcam, it said the software was old so probably won't work, I installed it anyway on my 64bit computer, and it worked fine, no issues.
