Ok my band played a show last week, got a recording of it,the only problem is the mp3 is just one big file. Now I want to split it up into each song but thats were the confusing part comes,I tried out some software but got no where. If anyone can help that would be great.
I use GXtranscoder to turn MP3s into Wavs, and then use Sound recorder (you should already have it on your PC) to split them up into seperate files, then use GXtranscoder to turn the files into MP3s. Might be a longer process than others use, but GXtranscoder is free. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-CD-Rippers-Encoders/GX-Transcoder.shtml
Audacity can handle MP3s - just load it in, chop it up and save all the pieces out. It's also dead easy to use and comes in every OS imaginable. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ (You may have to cut from the long file and paste into new files for best effect).
Audacity seconded - It's very easy to use, And I have used it for this very same purpose. You will need to download the lame .dll and put it somewhere though
The audio editor that comes with nero works and is fairly easy to use Mixmeister also works well, but that costs a bunch
