MPR-23588-X2 MD5: F2CD29D09F3E29984BCEA22AB2E006FE (This bios dislikes MIL-CDs) Next I'll dump the flash for the said console.
What's in the bios code for it not to like cd-r's. wonder could it be made to region free and cd-r able?
They just changed the KABUTO (boot loader). it's like 99% the older bios. If there's no problem with that for the forum I cam put a link here.
Given that link83 modified devkit bios is allowed, it's safe to say that this one too is ok! Cheers, and thank you! FG
There you go: http://www.4shared.com/zip/1iNWkOwZ/Dreamcast_VA2_4.html Contains the BIOS and FLASHROM for an VA2.4 motherboard (no separated GD drive board).
I cheated ! I put two BIOS in parallel. Booted from the old one, switched the bios and dumped the other one with the vulnerable code already running in RAM. Then I had HTTPD-ACK do it's thing.
Nice I was imagining the usage of a System Disc 2 to launch a program put on GD-R, but your method is cooler
Burning an GD-R for doing something like dumping a bios ? That would be silly and wasteful, honestly. I'd rather wire it up on some board then use an chip programmer for doing the job. I don't even have the hardware to burn an GD-R... And the System Disc is beyond rare ...
Never thought I would ever see this but I guess I can eat mt words on that. Thanks for the contribution.
Is it really 2.4? Not 2.1? If so it'd be cool to hqve a picture of the mobo. I had never heard of VA2.4 only 2.1! Thanks!
Would V2 dreamcast's be able to run CD-R's (MIL-CDs) if the bios was swapped with the code from a V1 Bios?
