CF support? Nice! IIRC my BIOS only supports ZIP, HDD and something called ORB drives, and my HDD sounds like it's dying, so perfect timing. Thanks!

Also, what files do I add to the zip disks? Just "z64patch.dat" or the others?

    Others being...
    extra (Folder)
    dk64-usa.ram
    file_id.diz
    jfg-usa.ram
    swep1rus.eep

EDIT: Just read read me. I assume only include those files if I want to play the games they are designed for?

Can someone here help me format my CF Card for my Z64? I can't use Partition Magic because it doesn't work on removeable drives and I don't have DOS 5 or even know how to use DOS. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Sorry I'm late to the game but would someone please re-upload z64patch.dat V3.0 US. Do I just copy this .dat file to my CF card to run and the Z64 will patch my clean ROM on bootup? I'm having trouble getting Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo Tooie to boot as I get a black screen. I have tried the NTSC crack for both games but no success so far.

    Thanks.

You put it in the root of the drive and it'll patch the roms in memory upon loading. That .dat is really just a zip file full of ips files, and iirc the names of the rom files need to match the patches', so unless you have a collection scene ROM releases from waaay back, you're probably better off hard-patching roms beforehand.

Re: your boot problems - try a different boot cart.

I am able to boot both Donkey Kong 64 and jet Force Genimi with the z64patch.dat file now. Last one on my list is Banjo Tooie.

I made a custom mount for a generic IDE to SD adapter board for my z64

I uploaded the STL for it on this post if anyone is interested.

^^^ Nice work Collingall! But why did you bump a 4 year old thread? You should make a new one thread for something as good as this, its way different than the original posts BIOS files share. Just don't want your STL file to get lost here if someone were to look for a SD conversion piece.

Also, great pictures btw. The installed piece looks really good!

Someone else bumped this thread and I remembered that I did this mod and figured I would post it here, but I might do a thread for it in the mod section too

Wow that is nice with the LEDs and all. I would of gone the SD route instead of CF since SD is more common. Do you have the part numbers you used?

Did you just use the v2.20 BIOS that support CF card for it to recognize the SDcard or did you used a different BIOS?

It works with the 2.2.0 BIOS that is in this tread. I tested it with a few SD cards I had laying around. It would work with the 16gb one I had if I had 8 2gb fat partitions on it. Other than figuring out how to do partitions on a SD card it was an easy upgrade. I found using gparted was the easiest way for me to do it. I have a bootable disk for that.
