MSN Messenger issues again (UK)

Here we go again. Unable to access my account. I've been experiencing issues with it on and off all day and noticed a few others complaining about it, however I can't access my account at all at the moment. Anyone else got issues?

 

Yeah, not as bad as yesterday but it is still doing it.

Are you using the old or new MSN? I'm using the old one at work, and had problems, whereas I'm using the new at home and it's fine.

 

Apparently this isn't just limited to the UK. My friends in S.Korea are having similar problems.

 

I've just upgraded to the latest version and no problems here!

 

I cannot connect too.

 

I had some issues last night with WLM 8.5 in a friend's house, but when I arrived home WLM 9.0 beta worked perfectly. Maybe old Messenger versions aren't working well for the moment...

BTW, it looks like the trouble is kind of global, I have many contacts cursing MSN in their nicknames since last night

Thanks folks! Using a variety of MSN versions in trying to find one that works.

 

it's on and off for me, it blames my connection, but its not the connection.

 

I had issues but once connected I haven't had any problems.

 

I'm doing OK on AdiumX, but the X360 just gives up.

UPDATE: Actually, it has jammed up on Adium too, with it timing out whilst waiting to get a password request. Methinks the authentication server is ballsed.

 

Using logging in with the Web version (the official MS one) fixes this problem. Something gets stuck on the authentication server and logging in via the web client unjams it.

 

I have had it not connect before,but usually just reconnect and it works fine.

 

Well, it told me within the past week that there's a new version available, which I installed. This is the one where the "last message received" notification is in the conversation window, not the bar at the bottom of the window. 8.5.1302.1018 - all going well for me so far with it!

 

Yep, this is how I finally managed to log in this morning...finally! :nod:

 

I had major problems on Tuesday with MSN and hotmail. I couldn't log into either on I wasn't even getting emails I had diverted to another inbox. Caused major problems at work on Wednesday morning.

Wednesday afternoon I was back in action and haven't had a problem with it since.

 

i had trouble with live messenger 8 and the one that comes with XP so i tried running Pidgin portable from my portable apps menu on my usb stick and had a connection issue at first but got connected second time

 

No troubles with Pidgin Portable here, anyway it looks like the troubles are fading now...
