MSX! I've heard about this thing, but I am surprised to learn it's not one computer but absolutely dozens, all made by various different companies to a common standard. It didn't get very far in the UK or US apparently, but was a hit in Europe, South America, and Asia.

I'm tempted to get one for gaming, but the sheer variance is bewildering, and I am cautious of getting one which is incompatible with UK power, TVs, or the majority of games.

Can anyone recommend a particular model to hunt down? Does the MSX have most of the games, or would an MSX2, 2+, or Turbo be recommended?

    Thanks :)

Get an MSX2, or you will regret it. Any 220 volt model will do. For software, get the Megaflashrom SCC +SD with 512kb system ram.

2+ has noticable performance benefits over any MSX2 model. Turbo and Turbo-R again are only marginally better than 2+ models, and the improvements only apply to certain software.
