Ok ignoring the cheap over powered characters some people make Coughomegatomhankscough I do love me some Mugen. Where other cross over fighters disappoint Mugen delivers. The random fights that can transpire range from to EPIC. Ryu VS Ragna from Blaz Blue? Sonic VS.... a Belmont it can happen and does yeah... any other mugen fans around here?
The whole thing is basically useless for anything other than screwing around unless you wanna spend ages futilely trying to get everything balanced. The people who make characters also seem to be serious crybabies: "WWAAAH, someone uploaded my sweet Goku to another site, so I'm leaving forever!" If you wanna make Peter Griffin fight Sandman...yeah, I guess this is the only way to do it.
Yeah I hate the attitude some creators have I have never been able to compile something 100% balenced some asshole always makes a character with over aggressive AI that ruins everything. I still enjoy fucking around with it.
It was a lot of fun! There's any new version to run on newer systems? (I used it on DOS, inside Windows 98) Recommend any good pack?
Balance is more in character design than AI really, if you have a basic knowledge on how to edit things and a bit of spare time you should have no problem tweaking characters so they're less abusive, or more abusive should you wish it. Unless of course altering a characters move properties requires you to also alter the AI.
I remember playing MUGEN back in High School. It was fun searching online for new characters and levels to download. Balancing everything was a pain though. I gave up with it when my computer's hard drive malfunctioned and I had to replace it. I know it's my fault for not backing the files up, but I'm not spending hours again trying to set it up like I had it. Maybe someday. It's called MUGEN 1.0. It was released in January of 2011. Maybe they've updated it since then, I don't know. I do know that it could be run in 720p and 1080p, and that it supports HD sprites and levels.
Mugen is why I had to start this whole Windows reinstall mess to begin with... Maybe later on when I'm 100% happy with windows I'll fuck around with it again
i like it but im always a dick and set the finial boss to be super shreader who moves at the speed of light and kills in 1 hit
