Back in the day I had a six-cartridge "changer" for my sega genesis ... it came from a demo kiosk and you could plug in six carts and press a button to cycle through each of them ... I don't maintain any sega equipment now, but I am wondering if such a device exists for either the SNES or the Nintendo 64 ? I'm not looking for mods / homebrew, but were there any officially produced (even for demo kiosks) cart-changers for either SNES or N64 ? Thanks.
M82 / Famicom Box for NES. Guess what it was for SNS? You guessed it... Super Famicom Box. It is not an add on per se, more of an all in one unit. They used to be seen on the old homepage many years ago. Nintendo 64 wasn't really multicart, was just a Lodgenet unit with a flash cart IIRC.
are you talking about this http://cgi.ebay.com/New-SNES-Super-...0423096106?pt=Video_Games&hash=item27ae02132a
He wasn't talking about that (he was pretty explicit about wanting something that would extend the number of slots for the console's native carts), but anyway, Tristars are pretty uninteresting to be honest. They tap power and pad input, but have their own A/V out, and underneath it's just the usual system-on-a-chip clone junk.
This is the item I used to own for the Genesis: http://www.sega-16.com/Features/Genesis Accessory & Peripheral Guide/6 Cart Switcher 1 thumb.jpg which was an add-on hardware for existing, standard consoles. As opposed to the super famicom box, which is a completely different console altogether. So it appears there is not a multi-cart changer for SNES/N64 ... shame.
