Ok guys , I've my first psx intro/demo almost done, now I need to test it on the real hardware! I bought some times ago a gameshark and I've flashed it with caetla , but eventually I realized that the par port of this Gs i broken, so I don't want to spend 20$+postage to get a new Gs. I'm sick to waste a cd for every time I have to test my code on real hardware, so I've find this " Multisession Exe Loader v0.3 ", a little program coded by Loser (back in 2001). This is a great tool that make u able to use 1 cd up to 45 times (in multi session) , but I can't find a proper way o burn my multisession disk OH: Everytime I burn a cd my psx seems that it is capable to recognize only the first session :/ have anybody tried this and got it to works ? PS: This program is tested in cdrwin 4 , but this piece of s..oftware is incompatible with my burner
PS1 and PS2 retail units are supposed to read only silver discs. What made you think SONY would bother with adding multisession support on the PS CD/DVD drives ? (I mean even the debugger/devkit versions) So, that won't work at all...
wasnt something with "not" closing sessions ? I dunno, ive read it somewhere infesticating xbox dvd's. nothing to do with it, but is a serial connection or memorycard good? btw, is it posible to store small apps on a memory card? I mean, demoscene is also about small size
You Are wrong man , The multisession support is emulated in The "multisession exe loader" ... I'm not a noob Some years ago i've used this program and I remember that it worked with cdrwin .. Now that i can't use cdrwin , i can't get it to work.
gotta be honest mate i've never heard of a PSX being able to read multi-session discs and as far as im aware the tool that loser from Paradox released was for booting multiple executables from a menu (like a demo disc or multi-game game disc) and not for booting executables from other sessions in the disc
I think that once the OP realizes that what is making the drive only see the first session of the disc is the PLAYSTATION CD-ROM drive firmware he will stop arguing.
Dunno , I remember that I've used this with cdrwin some years ago and it worked :/ Btw, this is not an important thing , I can still code and test my intro with an emulator Anyway , thank you oliveira and co.
Yah that's the idea... Just making you not waste time with something that isn't really likely to work.
Avanaboy is right though, I remember reading about this back in the day... I'm pretty sure people used it. Please don't insist, it's not like Loser isn't (equally) knowledgeable on PSX dev.
