All right, since there's exactly two people here that will give a fuck about this (Me and sven666) I figured it would be worth a post to challenge anyone to contribute to this thread. This is home of the obscure, but there's still loads of... ahem, sorry... lame mainstream crap. Cave (the last [and I do mean last] company to put out old school-themed games) has made a remix of Mushihime-sama Futari. The "Black Label" version is on location test at Hey in Akihabara until tomorrow. My write up (and some vids) are in the link below. http://www.gamengai.com/bn_inf.php?type=article&id=1636 I'm really excited about this...even though they're only making 150. I think it's great that Cave have made it affordable to put out a few SH3 games per year. Would be even nicer if anyone could make a game half as good as them on the same architecture. Let's face it though... quality in games is either now subjective, or simply a thing of the past.
Oh, I bet GSL's gonna be all over this! ...oh wait, "until tomorrow". Too bad :-( Are you going for the board, GP?
Yeah, I'm going fo the board. My trips to the arcade are about as sparse as me getting any action at home these days (read: kid = about none). This is kind of the only way to put a lot of time in. Chances of my local one getting it are very slim. Mikado might, but I don't want to press my luck.
I give a fuck, and I am gonna go read your writeup right now Unfortunately, I too am probably never going to get to play it...
I do give a fuck, and I believe. That Yakumo does too, since it is through him I learned to love shooters. or rekindle it.
Hey I give a fk! I was pleased as punch I got the 1cc on Original 1.5 with 3 lives remaining about a week ago. I played the Loke on Monday. Never had to wait more than one person, and seeing as everyone was playing God mode that was about 7 mins! Anyway, I am excited. Original mode has really been honed to perfection and it was great to see experienced players who could get to stage 3 on God kicked off on stage 3 original! Oh and I gave God a go and had my arse kicked on the first half of the second level! There was also a guy from Cave talking to people on Monday, I told him I reckon they should stick the new boss at the end of Original and Maniac. Seeing as otherwise I am never going to face it, as I have never even seen the final boss on Maniac.
The new boss kind of gives me a reason to play God. It actually looks very manageable. Maniac was a challenge, but mainly b/c I played for a couple of days, then wouldn't touch it for weeks. After maniac, I cleared original on my 6th credit ever... not once continuing. Looks like some things are harder (faster bullets, more bullets, more enemies) while some easier (boss fights way faster). Should have it soon. Gotta pay for it though. -GP
