Very nice find and an extremely well constructed interview. Got nothing but love for this dude:thumbsup:
He is a great player, but I don't respect him anymore than I would any other player. I respect everyone individually and only when they gain it from me.
I saw the video of this dude a few minutes ago, actually. He's pretty cool, and looks like he would be a fun person to hang out with. Certainly appropriate to post this, as it was the 20th anniversary of Street Fighter 2 yesterday.
This is a true gamer, unhindered by handicap settings. It's sad that many of the comments below the video deal with his inability and not the fact that by his mind alone can bend interface conventions and be good at it. I'd actually love to see the guy play Super Smash Bros. Melee. Does he have any gameplay videos?
Wow, I could never picture having such fast reaction time with my mouth like that. His handicap actually has a good side to it, too. Because he doesn't use his hands at all, he doesn't have to worry about arthritis hindering his ability to play games later on in life.
those sound like the benefits of dying before taxes. I m sure his neck, not designed for such rapid reaction, will eventually be his ultimate hindrance at a later age. Keep in mind that he has to actually look straight up at the screen while doing this and you can imagine the muscle/joint strain.
From the way I intrprtd it, it sounds like he has a macro or turbo on each button and doesnt bash them, he just presses them once and it does a couple of presses, or am I completely mistaken?
Not really macro. He just changed the button layout. The '3 punches' and '3 kicks' buttons he refers to are in the actual control scheme. You hit all three punch or kick buttons to do Ultra combos.
More impressive than this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwvCl4mgG7g I wonder if his abilities translate to any other gaming genres.
He's doing a AMA on reddit at the moment: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/gr2la/i_am_a_disabled_progamer_that_plays_with_his_face/
