I recently bought an MVS MV1F-S arcade motherboard and I noticed some prongs on the side that are labeled "headphone". HardMVS says that the MV1F boards have no headphone jack but a headphone connector, so I assume that's what they're talking about. What I'm not sure is how it is used. Since there are four prongs I assume each prong is for the positive or negative lead of each channel, but I don't know which is which. If I used the wrong leads it could possibly short circuit. Does anyone know which lead is which and how it is used? Also, I could make a connector for this myself, but it might be nicer if I could buy one. Does anyone know if there is a jack made especially to fit this connector? Here are some pictures illustrating what I'm talking about:
Pin 4 and 1 are positive and the two in the middle (2 and 3) are negative, i dont remember wich is supposed to be right and left channel, but maybe thats not so important for you?
Thank you kindly, sir! I take it that the positives and negatives pair with the ajacent pin? 1 with 2 and 3 with 4?
yes, 1 with 2 and 3 with 4. I think 1 and 2 is left channel (3&4 for right) since thats how the speaker connector is setup, must be same for headphone? Also you can find the manual for your board at HardMVS website
Just get a continuity tester and find the grounds. I bet left to right it's (L)(G)(R)(G) I remember how nice the sound on the old mvs was with the headphones, and you could bring your own mem card...
Yes, exactly like i said in posts #2 and #4  Actually i even did a picture for explaining, but never posted back then since i thought it was sorted out already. Here it is anyway :icon_bigg
Ah... when you said one and four I thought you were numbering from left to right; I didn't notice that there were actually numbers on the board... thank you very much, though.
