the headset port on my 360 controller stopped working is there a way i can fix this without buying a new controller
Test the socket by putting in another headset or by taking a jack out to an amplifier. It's more likely that the headset earpiece/speaker has blown than the socket is damaged unless something managed to get inside it, or someone forced something into it.The other common issue with any headset is that the cable can become damaged either along it's length or the solder point inside the jack or earpiece. However it's probably better to post any non dev related queries in the General Gaming or Off Topic areas.
That's fair enough! Could be a dry solder joint on the controller port then. If you are any good at soldering (because I haven't taken one apart, but would imagine its fairly small / tight solder spots) then I would try that next.
