My 360 is having disc drive problems... Up until a couple of days ago, my Elite has been perfect. No problems whatsoever. I've been play a lot of Crackdown lately, like a lot. So last night I tried to play Halo 3 and it didn't work. The disc wouldn't wind up or spin. So I tried Crackdown again, and it worked fine. So I just thought it was my Halo 3 disc. However, today I noticed this on my Crackdown disc: After seeing this, I tried every 360 game I had, which are all in perfect shape, and none of them work. There's just a sort of clicking and no spinning at all. So here's what I've concluded, it isn't the laser. My hypothesis is that the Crackdown disc, after hours of play, has somehow worn down the deal that catches an undamaged disc and makes it spin. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how I can get this fixed. I'll have to look into the warranty and see if this is covered. But as of right now, all I can play is Crackdown. Thanks in advance.
Uh... I don't get it... oh wait... now... wait... OH! Now I get it! It sucks cause I've almost got all the achievements and I'm so ready to move on to the next game... Maybe I'll crack all my other game discs...
Hoyl crap? Mine old ones used to scratch discs, but holy crap. Especially an elite doing that, what disc drive is that?
I don't think the disc drive caused the damage. Sorry if I wasn't clear. But after examining the Crackdown case there's definitely some damage like a chubby sibling may have stepped on it... I just noticed the damage earlier today but I could have been there all along...
I just opened my disc tray put Halo 3 on the tray. Push the tray a little to the left, closed the tray and it worked. I ejected it tried a different game and the same technique didn't work. I tried Halo 3 again, and it's not working anymore... Is there any way to re-align the tray?
Alright well now Crackdown doesn't work. :crying: Does this mean I have to start playing my DC again until I can get another 360??? :banghead:
You might wanna call MS if nothing is working, your warranty should still be good, as I think they last a year, then 3 years if you get a RROD. What drive do you have though? BenQ? Hitachi? Samsung? The last two I had wierd problems with, sometimes it would read a game, then just stop reading it ever again, and other times it would scratch the games. Like I got DOA4, it worked for a few days, stopped working, and then I had to get a replacement, etc.
here's my advice........download every Extend extra exteme.....never use your 360's disc drive again.......game's that awesome.
Oh yeah! I do need to get that game... But what about COD4, Mass Effect, and Assasin''s Creed? Oh man... what am I going to do!?
Well, I'm sending my Xbox in. To all my Live buddies out there, see you in a month! Goodbye Xbox. Hello Dreamcast. Come here Shenmue, my good buddy 'ol pal!
Fuck! That sucks. I used to hate when this happened. See you in awhile man. Maybe we could play PSO or something olololoolol.
F! Probably splitscreen with my bro... :crying: Or maybe he'll have his 360 by then and I can use the one he's using right now. We shall see... It's a sad day in the life of this little gamer...:Shit:
Yeah, that was an issue I thought had been ironed out. However I suspect you'll get the odd rogue disc and the odd rogue drive. I would send it back to MS including the disc for them to view. They should give you a replacement title. On another note, did you know that "Crackdown" was actually developed by Real Time Worlds, based in........Scotland! I just thought I'd say that as it doesn't happen very often lol
