I did a bit of snooping around on the Japanese net and found more pictures of the Dreamcast Xbox mod I uses for my Avatar plus the Game Cube one sitting on top of a Dreamkara ! This image is taken from a Japanese magazine. Just goes to show that this is a real hardware mod and not a Photo Shop effort ! Whole set Game Cube Mod pictures ! Yakumo
Like i mentioned in other topic ( when i saw your new avatar ), the XDCX is very funny :smt042 Nice mods by the way.
Yeah, the XDCX is funny and looks quite nice too. The Game Cube one doesn't look as good but still a great mod :smt045 Yakumo
The XDCX, albeit fun, actually makes sound sense when you consider the early relationship that the Xbox and Dreacast had together. ...You only have to look at the motherboard of a DVT3 to see the 'partnership' that existed. ...Oh how things could of been in different circumstances. :smt045
It would have been impressive if it was a photoshop job, but even more so since it's real :smt033 . I might have to do the Gamecube paintjob to my spare Dreamcast shell . How did he/she do such a good job with the lettering, though (forgive me if it's obvious, I'm still learning with painting)?
Why oh why would you want to make something like the Dreamcast - the first nice, small modern generation console - with a clunky great XBox? :smt009
Two of the most beautiful dc mods for sure. i love them both too, but the xdcx is much more impressive, complex and complete. I must add sexier too, but this is my opinion. :smt023 on the GC-DC side, i could have been far more complete, imo. But its still really good.
maybe we will see some kind of special bonus shell offering in Japan down the track? That xdcx shell mod is either injection casting from mould or CNC drilled out of plastic block. If it's injection then it's likely they'd pressed a few number of spare shells... he he
I love this kind of thing I love :smt023 Shame I seem to be having problems with the pictures loading :smt009
Weird stuff... I wonder what the second module under the 'Cube DC does... and where it came from. That's very interesting. The lettering on the PS2 DC pad looks cheap, but everything else is right on. Now, all it takes is to download a "PS2 Sucks!" logo for the VMU (and use a blue VMU!) and it'd look sweet. I've never been involved in console mods, but I have two dead Atari 2600s, and the shells gave me and a friend the idea to place in them the innards of a less archaic system. I'd love either Famicom clone (since I can get them for like 14 dollars at the black market) or SNes; though a CD based system would also be sweet - though also insanely difficult. ¿Any recommendations on how to start or what system to use? I'm a complete newbie in these matters.
That's just a Dreamkara (Dreamcast Karaoke System) I have one which was used quite a bit over Christmas and the new year. Yakumo
