Where do you find a debugging station? Somewhere
Where do you find many debuggers? In Assembler's collection.
Where do you find a new, never used and boxed PS1 debugger? Almost nowhere! Now in my collection...

Notice the sticky tape (original SONY) on the top.
I wonder, how a PS1 debugger could survive almost 5-7 years of age in it's box...

What does the box itself look like. I've never seen the box for a debug PS1.

  5. ...Yeh, the box is more unusual than the console, please show the box :)

wow that's pretty cool! Are they still being sold/made? That would actually make sense as PS1 dev hasn't stopped yet...

oh btw, I never got a reply to the PCB e-mail...

If you look on the underside of the CD door it should say when it was made... or at least when that piece of plastic was moulded...

I will post a picture of the box soon.

Green debugger (good condition) will be aquired from the master-collector "Assembler" himself :)

Still, after the ACC.... thingy, there seems to be more debuggers around than Yarozes... Still seaching a Yaroze (either new or used, also with damaged laser, since I have stock of 5 new PSX lasers bought specifically for those machines)

  10. Huh, what do you mean about having 5 lasers specifically for the Yaroze's?

    ...I'm curious as I have a Yaroze myself :)

...The laser looks the same as any other to me!

The Yaroze, the SCPH-100X series and the debuggers share all a common design, the early PSX design with the bad laser and the laser mounted at a different position to the other machines.

The PSone (the small one) has got a laser unit, that fits those machines, in regards to ribbon cable lenth, etc.

You only need to take your old laser, disassemble it and put the black plastic cover onto the new PSone laser and you can use it without a ribbon cable extension!

The PSone laser is of the highest quality, since it was the last PS1 made.

I picked up 5 lasers, because I also bought a debugger with damaged laser, my dead SCPH-1000 needs a laser too when it's revived and for the other machines (SCPH-9002, SCPH-5502), I'll use a ribbon cable extension or try to solder the old ribbon cable.

The lasers go for 19 EUR only at Ebay!

  14. Hi

Thanks for the piccy of the debugger packaging :)

...As for the info on the laser, thanks for clearing that up, you had me confused for a minute!

...Luckily I've never had any problems with the original PSX lasers so I'll carry on as before.

...The Yaroze, or course, very rarely uses the laser as the data's on the P.C, in fact I dont think I've ever used the laser to play a PSX game on it!!!

...So hopefully it should last forever and a day :)

I will continue to purchase lasers on stock, in case any of my PS1s fail.
Also, I will purchase 3 pcs of PS2-lasers for V3 consoles, to give my DTL-H30001 infinite life ;-)

I gotta get those PSOne laser unit or used PSOne itself if not too expensive... :p

do you know its model# so I can check on eBay coz they are all listed as PS laser...

better swap the laser on my SCPH-1000 unit then and standaby spare for Green Debug

    cheers

I think the PSone model numbers are SCPH-101 and SCPH-102, respectively. I think the last digit denotes the region, so the Japanese PS1 should be SCPH-100.
