Not anymore mate. I'm not talking about TFT I'm talking about the all new LED screens that came about this year or at least in Japan but I'm sure Europe has them too. Prime example is this shot taken from my TV. Now that black is BLACK  Golden Axe the Duel The blacks are so good on this shot that you can't see where the screen ends and the TVs frame starts. Even normal SD stuff looks good. This is probably how Tatsujin's TV handles the blacks as well. Honestly, the new gen of LED screens are far more advanced than the old ones and as a result blow away plasmas up to 50" at least. Biggest benefits though are cleaner colour tones, less heat, use less power, cleaner refresh rate (Especially the newest Sony's or so they say) and a wider viewing angle although still not as good as the classic CRT. Yakumo
I see modern LCDs all the time but have yet to see one that looks better than plasma/CRT when displaying a pure black screen. It's a fundamental issue - TFT screen are backlit. You can only do so much to cover that light.
Yes this was the case but the new ones can do very nice blacks as the above pictures show. I'll finish on this topic though since I don't want to spam Tatsujins thread about plasma vs led
the todays HO acquisition the box ain't megamint, but the inside is all like it was never touched. and here the super grafx family photo
Yeah, Darius Plus and Darius Alpha palyed on the Super Grafx taking advantage of the hardware upgrade and using a second layer instead of sprites 'n' tiles to do the parallax. As the result of this, there are much less flickers, especially during the boss fights. Also those two are the only SGFX hybrids so far. Therefore the SGFX library consists of 5 originals & 2 hybrids. @geek, thanx mate
Just how much stuff do you have and does your collection have any real direction or do you just buy whatever you see  Amazing stuff though. Yakumo
List of priorities: 1. Buy everything PCE & related you do not own yet. 2. Buy everything PCE & related you do own already but is cheap as hell. 3. Buy every System Card below 200yen mark. 4. Buy everything else you like to have, as long your budget can afford it
Your doorstop is the wrong way around That's a lovely copy of Contra you got there, the box looks splendid. No collector's card though? ^^
lol yeah, it turned itself, to refuse from his desiganted work. The copy is in quite good shape and I payed "only" 5000 yens for it, so I could get over the missing card Anyway, just wanted to play it so bad, and the price gap from a lose one for 2500 yens wasn't that huge.
That sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder to me. Even if it's cheap there is no reason in the world for example to own more then 1 (and even that is more then anyone needs) copy of say F1 Pilot. Same as buying System cards, you buying them all like they part of the holy grail is probably denying some poor PC Engine owner the chance to play Altered Beast CD. ;-) BTW do you ever read your PMs?
Tats, I didn't realize you had an Atari Lynx. Did you import it from America? I can't imagine you found it in Hard-Off. (this doesn't count as thread necro, does it?)
Nice collection ohh and in this pic http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/8607/merchgs2.jpg is that tokyo game show for ps2?
