Hi. I wanted to post some pics in this thread, but without a tutor, I don't think I'll ever get it right. So here's a link instead. http://s663.photobucket.com/albums/uu353/sickertus/handhelds/ Hope it works.:banghead: I'm equal parts collector/player/investigator , so while I definitely covet these things I also use them whenever I have some spare time. So I'm always trying to develop a nice library of titles. I've spend much of the last two years focusing on the Timetop Gameking, and the Bitcorp Gamate. They may be my sentimental favorites, in part due to the lack of quality information online (and emulation) , allowing a collector to adventure into unknown territory and make interesting discoveries along the way. Any feedback welcome. Enjoy.
Nice collection you have there, I have love for anything gameboy especially clones. Have you looked at the internals of any of the GB clones?
No, not the Gameboy clones. I've messed around inside a couple of the supervisions, and autopsied many a Bitcorp Gamate, but never tinkered with any clones. I can tell the games seem to run a wee-bit faster on the GB Boy and the Happy boy. Trenton_net wrote a fine article here, in '09 on Chinese GB clones. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23624 I'm with you, I love the clones. Besides being "different" the screens are also slightly bigger/different ratio. And the LED power light's tend to be green! How awesome is that.
i like the gangfend GB Boy. Looks just SLIGHTLY different without being cheesy. also, i've never seen a gray gameboy pocket! love it!
The Buttons on the GB Boy are very comfortable, and SLIGHTLY softer than Nintendo buttons. That Grey GBP seems like the classiest GBP on earth. Shame no one on this side of the Pacific had a chance to buy one....until ebay, anyway.
Hmm, gaymates and GangBang gameboy clones... I'm starting to wonder about you! Seriously, though - nice collection! Do you really have nothing better to do than play a Gamate, though?! ;-)
Due to the nature of your collection, i don't suppose you could identify this. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31437
What?? My 2 year old "plays". I INVESTIGATE! p.s. read this and thought of you..... The instructions for Cosmic Fighter, a very privative little shooter for the Gamate, identify the evil villain (from Hell Planet!) as.....wait for it.... "Master Bat". :fresh: Seriously, many of the games are quite fun (including C.F.). And it's exciting to explore a disregarded console, that's 0% emulated, consider what they got right, and what when wrong. I like that.
Oh yeah, I read your post the other day. Nope, never seen that one. Do you recall if it had a cartridge slot?
A couple of new acquisitions. Found the last Game Master I was looking for and a neat unreleased handheld from China c.2005.
