I don't exactally have alot of money, but I'm in the market for a new TV but the fact that alot of HDTV's don't run older consoles and stuff properly annoys me and makes buying one 10x harder. -_-
The flatscreen TVs still look very nice on old systems. I honestly can't playing on an older, rounded TV because most of the time the picture is cut off somewhere. I had a 27 inch flat screen tube TV with S video input and my SNES looked damn good on it.
I'm not talking picutre quality, alot of LCD and HDTV's have lag on them...x_X its very tiny and you don't notice unless you're trying to count frames in street fighter or time notes in guitar hero or DDR
just get Sony XBR HDTV CRT, you won't get anything better than that (especially 40 inches). tubes will be soon discontinued, quality is amazing on all systems.
that is so not true, I have all my classic systems played on my hdtv and they all look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!! I would suggest you to get one of the Sony XBR Wega Trinitrons and you'll be blown away.
No...no I'm not a girl. why do you say that? If it's the Hello Kitty pillow...well...it's comfy. And cute. As for the shoe's and pink bags in the DDR pad picture, the pink bags are from Pink Godzilla Games, a retro/import game store in Seattle.
My mate bought a 40" Sony LCD a week ago (don't know the model number but it wasn't cheap) and it's terrible for analogue signals. Most consumer digital display devices can't upscale low-res analogue signal for shit.
I like pink/black/white in combination. It's not like they're flat out pink, it's mostly black with pink as an accent.
There still is no way to eliminate lag on an CRT HDTV... Until that problem is resolved, I'm just going to get a standard definition wide screen tv with component input...
I have 3 displays in my room. I have my PC's 17" LCD, then a 21" WideScreen LCD Monitor with TV Input Support (Composite, Svideo, Component), and finally a SDTV 19" CRT with Composite Video. The 19" CRT is basically for watching TV and playing NES, which looks like shit on the LCD (except via Xbox emulation). The 21" WS LCD is for everything else. SNES looks pretty good on the LCD by S-Video. I suppose if I find a way to setup the Genesis, the CRT would be for it too. Anyone, the point is, really having multipule TVs is the best way to get classic support properly and High-Def goodness. Also, my LCD Monitor with TV inputs does no have any "lag". Atleast not as far as I could tell. I believe I tested DDR on it for that very purpose and had no trouble.
try playing street fighter 3 third strike and parrying. Region Mod on gamecube! And Nintendo NES themed chuck taylors haha... a tad lopsided but meh... edit: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6168482.html << Parappa's creator is mad at the slow refresh rate on HDTV's because the rhythem games don't function properly with the lag
