My DC dev box doesn't read audio CD's!

My DC dev box doesn't read discs!

I have tried 2 different DC dev boxes and they can't read games or audio CD's (yes, they are original, not CD-R).

 

mine reads them perfectly

 

As did mine when I had it -_-

 

Buy a CDPLAYER!

 

Maybe the Cds are copy-protected ? check that out. Then try a CD-R, maybe that works then

 

well, now the dev box doesn't even read games (originals)...i hear the drive spinning the disc, but no luck. Do the dip switches need to be set special?

 

I posted the dip switch setting in the other thread about the scsi hd problem. You might need to open the devbox and check if the drive is properly connected.

I have this problem with 2 separate dc dev units. I don't even get a recognition that the drive door is open or the disc is being checked.

 

Ok, I figured out what the prob was...I FINALLY got GD Workshop to recognize my DC dev unit. I set the Dev Box to GD-ROM mode....but when i go to load a game or CD or whatever, it hangs on the "Please Wait While Disc Is Being Checked" screen. Any Ideas?

 

What version is your devbox?

 

mine is working with protected CD-Audio but not with games...

 

check tour version of bootrom but with new version of bootrom sega removed support to cd_rom. for read a cdrom flash with old bios release
