I have two DCs, one that I primarily play and one that I have as a backup. Both of them are November 2000 NTSC-U, and the colors are accurate on both consoles when I use a composite connection. I recently got the Hanzo VGA box, and the difference in the picture quality is significant. Everything is sharper, and I love that all my games are now widescreen. I do have a problem though. I tried the Hanzo on the one I use most often, and there is a yellow tint to the picture that I can't get rid of. For instance, when the Dreamcast starts up, the screen should have the DC logo on a brilliant white screen. However, with the VGA box, the background is yellow. I tried messing around with all the switches on the Hanzo, but nothing worked. I then tried the box on my backup DC, and the picture is perfect-all the colors are accurate. The problem has to be with the console. Is there something I can do to fix the issue? It's not a major issue, but I would like my games to display the right colors. If not, I'll only use the Hanzo with my backup DC. Thanks.

Did you try another VGA cable? Those things can be tricky sometimes.

It worked fine on my backup DC, so I think it has something to do with the console, not the VGA cable.

You plug one end into your Dreamcast, the other goes to a VGA capable display. What's tricky?

Looks like bad connection on blue channel. Does DС has capacitors on the output? Check on blue channel.

One of my VGA cables is crap and if I don't jiggle it right, despite it being VERY snug it gives blue and yellow tints depending. I've tried another and it's great. Must be my problem could require a cleaning.

Not sure what you mean. What's the blue channel?

RGB == Red, Green, Blue. Try cleaning A/V port.

It doesn't use RGB. The VGA box connects to the Dreamcast port. A VGA cable connects the box to the TV, and RCA audio cables are connected from the VGA box to the TV for audio. I already tried cleaning the Dreamcast port.

I see what you're saying about RGB. I thought you meant that I was using a RGB cable. I checked the pins on the Dreamcast and the VGA box, and they seem fine. Do you think that maybe the 14 pin on my DC is disabled? How would I repair it?

I replied to you yesterday, but for whatever reason, the reply didn't get posted. I thought you were talking about a RGB cable when you replied to me. Is there a way to fix the pin so that the blue is enabled?

Also pop open the VGA box and reflow the solder joints on the vga port can test for continuity on the Dreamcast cable side.
