My first successful repair (Original GB)

Hello. Yesterday I had received a broken Original Game Boy and repaired it.

Below is the ebay page where I purchased it showing some before pictures and other details about the GB.

I originally thought it was going to be some dirty connectors. I was partially correct.
The batteries that were previously in the unit had leaked badly. *See pictures below*
Also the headphone jack was full of dust.



After cleaning off as much of the corrosion as I could from the ribbon cable, cartridge slot, and circuit boards several times, I re-assembled the unit.

Then, the next task was to make a backing for the GB since it didn't come with one.
To do this, I simply took an old unwanted DVD case and cut out the shape of the backing with a knife and scissors.



After that, I was done and had a completely functional unit as it is seen below with some of the tools I used to repair it.

The pictures should be visible underneath the text. At least I see them.

It's the way you've linked them, most likely. You need a direct URL.

That's never going to work on a forum. You need something more like:

Thanks. And I actually had them end after the .png first and tried adding the entire URL to see it would fix anything. Guess not.

 

It's not the ending, it's the way they use all that auth crap, basically to prevent hotlinking. Use a host that allows hotlinking.
