Instead of flooding the forum with goodness knows how many photos, I've actually been uploading my game collection to YouTube.

Each video is basically just a slideshow of each console's games with classic gaming music over the top.

I'd love to know what everyone thinks, so have a quick look if you get the time :)

Nice! Funny how our Megadrive collections are pretty similar but you have better N64 games than I do :p

it's cool that you took the time to do separate videos I think most people prefer an overview as well or a video of the games all lined up on shelves but who cares xD

Where do you find the time to do all that! Looks great though, I've only got one overview video due to time constraints and a lack of collection! Hahaha! :victorious:

Keep it up though, are you going to go for all the games? Or just picking out favourites as you go?

And welcome to the forums both of you!

I would have loved to have done an overview of them all on shelves or even a proper game room tour but unfortunately a lot of my games and consoles are boxed up due to lack of space :(

A fully kitted out game room is always the dream though :)

I had a week off work and ran out of things to occupy myself with so the videos are the fruits of my labour :) I'd been thinking about doing videos like that for quite a while and they actually turned out better than I'd expected. I've got ideas for a few more but after that, I'm stumped lol.

It's never really interested me to go for complete collections as a lot of the games I'd probably never play, and that seems like kind of a waste of money. I'd rather just stick to the games that interest me.

And thanks for the welcome :)

That's exactly my attitude towards game collecting, keep the ones you like and have an Everdrive for everything else :wink-new:
Consoles on the other hand... Mother always said that you can never have too many spare Mega Drives...

No offense, but if I just wanted to look at random pictures of some game covers, I'd browse the "video games" category on ebay. :p
If you want to show your collection, you should take pictures of the shelf or make a video showing your game room... for all we know as a viewer, this is merely a slideshow of some absolutely random covers and there's no point in watching it what so ever. o_o

You want people to see your collection and collect their opinions, you need to give them candy!

That pretty much is what I think when I see someone showing their collection as a bunch of single shots of each game. Part of showing a collection is getting to marvel at the sight of it all together, admiring the whole menage of colors it creates, kinda like looking at art =p You don't really get the big picture looking at single pics, may as well go to Google for that.

Fair point. I did wonder if a lot of people wouldn't believe all those games are mine because of the way the videos are done. The only problem I have is that a lot of my games are all boxed up, I don't have them all out on shelves because I just don't have the room. I've got all current and last gen games squashed into a tv unit but it doesn't look as impressive as having them all lined up on shelves.

As soon as I have the space for a game room, I have full intentions of doing room tour pictures. Something like that shouldn't be kept hidden away :)
