    Hey all!

Figured it was about time that I photographed my GC dev items. These items are the ones that would fit inside my Light Box, used for taking product shots, etc. I have the following items that I haven't figured out how to properly photograph yet, but pictures will be coming eventually:

    - DDH
    - NPDP GDEV
    - NPDP GBOX
    - NPDP GW

For the rest of the items, see the photos below :)

Spindle of NR Discs, most which are blank. Box, too!

    That prototype controller is awesome.

Nice collection. I need to get a lightbox.

Thanks for the comments! I actually built the lightbox myself for a couple dollars. Used some corrugated plastic to make the box, a piece of bristle board for the sweep and a couple utility lights on each side I already had lying around. Photos were taken with my Canon 5D mark II, which is considerably more expensive ;)

How did you get the inside so shiny? Why the fake reflections? and what kind of light bulbs you using for illumination?

Fake reflections? No fake reflections. Thats just a piece of glass from a picture frame I was sitting everything on :) Simple, but effective.

The bulbs were halogen, from utility lights not unlike these:

    Hmm got to try that.

I've been getting into microstock, I've had a few images accepted by the big sites but nothing to warrant enough attention to make any money.

Really nice collection, the prototype controller looks damn good.

Excellent pictures btw, you get a really good lighting from those bulbs and using the glass under the items creates a nice reflection.

    Keep it up!

    Thanks for sharing!

It's always nice to see dev items for a console all together.

    Nice stuff!

You can get the same sort of photos for the larger items with a large sheet of white paper. Just put it into the same L shape (with a curve), point the lights from either side (or however you want) and shoot. Easy!

The following only has a standard overhead light, but illustrates what I mean:

    Umm, let's see....

    1. Don't ask for things in someone else's collection thread.
    2. There's a Want To Buy forum - that's where you ask.
    3. Don't double post the same question in different forums.
    4. You might want to at least introduce yourself before you ask for things. First post requests don't go down too well here.
    5. When requesting something, it is a good idea to mention in which country you are located - some sellers don't want to ship overseas.
    6. New users requesting things may get a better response if they give some kind of credentials (e.g. eBay feedback)

Tchoin, Thats an AWESOME shirt, never seen it before! Where can one purchase it? (Hijacking my own thread is okay)

I want to thank everyone for their positive comments about my collection and the photos! I really appreciate the feedback, and when I get the chance I will take pictures of the larger hardware items, as well as a photo of everything together.

Retro, thanks for the tips for photographing larger items. I will make a trip to an art store hopefully later this week to see what the largest paper I can purchase is to use as the sweep. I'd want support lights on the sides, which are designed to reduce the shadows which you see in front of that ancient video projector :)

You should be able to get A0 (if not larger)... or a roll, of course!

The other thing you could do is construct a light table. Basically a frame with card or perspex in the S-shape again. Something like this:

Incidentally, those results are good for using worker halogens! They can be somewhat too "hot" in the spectrum. Doesn't look like you had that problem, though!

I doubt a GDEV would sit nicely on a table like that ;)

The lights were a little warm, but the camera's built-in custom white balance paired with the RAW conversion custom white balance in Adobe Lightroom fixes up the colours nicely.

I'll look for a roll, because I'll want enough paper for a full collection shit, even if I have to photoshop certain seems out of the background. School has me quite busy this week so I'm not sure when I'll get to it, but thanks for your suggestions!

I want to build a small studio eventually, but I don't have the time or the space to do it... yet! :)

That's a bajillion dollars right there... If you're making a living I can see, taking pics of game copiers... not worth the $2000 or more I see in that pic.
