I slapped this together today just for fun, and because I had all parts I needed lying around. I love those little projects where you already have all the parts lying around I had to remove the metal shielding and some of the white plastic from the old Gameport, so the plug can fit into a Neo Geo port, wasn't so easy, but it worked. I used an old Scart cable because I could not find another cable with at least 12 strands. Granted, the box is a little bit wobbly, maybe I can reinforce it somehow  But it works, I just set a new personal highscore in Blazing Star with this. (With a stiff Happ bat top stick, even!) Mock the button layout if you will, but it works for me, and there were not a whole lot of other button layouts possible on this small cardboard box. Maybe this will end up in the Gallery of Shite on AO, I don't care ;-)
Most people would use a plastic box (lunch box). Not cardboard. lol. Of course, there is always wood...
I doubt it, many people use a substitute box to play around with format originally. If you checked the older Show your Arcade Stick thread on SRK you'd see. As long as the box is rigid though I see no reason why it would perform any less than any other arcade stick.
That's pretty ghetto, man. Another good one would be: Cheerios box arcade stick. Or Kleenex box. What I'm wondering is: how do you keep that thing from collapsing when you're really getting into the game? You could put a metal or plastic box inside of it.
I preferred the cardboard box myself lol ...Only kidding looking very tidy now and liking the new stick. Nice work!
