Ok so im finally getting around to making custom skins for all my emulators. I have started with the NES and made a MegaMan 2 themed skin since thats my favorite game of all time. Anyway the main image for the main menu I took wilys castle and put it aginst a starlit sky with a ledge off to the left. In emulator I have a sprite of megaman standing on the ledge looking towards the castle with his helmet off and his hair blowing. It looks awsome as hell ^^ I made all the images and custom sprites myself. Anyway more to the point I used Photoshop to make the images and they are 640x480 They display on the xbox ok but if you look at the image on the computer and then look at the xbox the image looks much worse in that the gradent I used for the background is seperated very poorly and dosent flow at all like I want it to. Also observe the light glow around the word Nintendo, in the emulator that glow is like almost solid and much bigger! Why is it doing this? I even tryed putting the image in the pictures folder of XBMC and looking at in case it was the emulator and its not. I also made another variant in the form of a BMP with highest quality settings. Can anyone explain what the deal is? It looks great on the PC, here have a look:
Oh son of a bitch thats gay >_< I just did it on my PC and its hard to tell at my high res but the image looks almost exactly like it does on the xbox now >_<>_<>_< Anyway to bypass this and make it displays more colors? >_> (software limitation or hardware) EDIT: I cannot image why the Geforce2 would not be able to display 24bit images so im assuming this is software related, if so is there a way to change it? I cant image having a bunch of pictures on my xbox and everytime I look at them they go into retarded 256 color mode.
anyone have any ideas how I can get the images to display in 24bit? I also posted this over at Xbox scene but no repsonses over there yet.
