Because of Superbowl weekend. I work at a grocery store, in their deli department where we not only slice cold-cuts but also do fried chicken and many other platters tailgaters love to eat. Now grant it, its good for our business because we rack in about $50,000 just for the deli department for that day because thats how much they earned last superbowl. And the rack where we keep the special orders for the platters that are to be picked up on Saturday and Sunday are practically full of the small forms. Theres bound to be a customer who will get pissed for some stupid reason and I just hope I don't end up helping that person. It's going to be a long dreadful weekend. :-(
Ouch, I feel sorry for you. I used to work at a grocery store, and I know exactly what you are talking about. Good luck with the hordes of stupid ass holes.
I honestly don't understand why people get so pissed off at something so minor. Only time I ever yelled at someone and requested a manager was at a target. Basically, the casheer was this bitch who had this "I don't care attitude" and THREW my items into the bags (as well as shove them in). Questioned her about why she was treating my items this way, got cussed out and was told to fuck off. Went up to the main desk and asked for the manager, told him what she did and what she said, and got her fired. Thats fucking america culture for you: You sometimes get good people who actually give a damn about their job, and you get fuckers like that girl who think a job is a game.
At least you don't live in Philadelphia during the Super Bowl weekend, especially this one. Then you'd really hate your job. :smt043 :smt043 It's fucking bananas around here.
Whoa, a Philadelphian, I'm from around there originally, my whole family lives there... Go Eagles! Edit: Where exactly are you from, einbebop?
Whoa, right in the thick of it huh? Though a bunch of my family lived in Philadelphia, I lived in Warrington...which is right next to Doylestown...Bucks county...pretty much my entire family is scattered around the Philadelphia area and south jersey. Sigh, I miss being there...it was a lot easier to get random ass games.
The big and final football game that takes place around this time each year. The 2 best teams from each division take on each other for the Lombardi trophy.
I used to work retail, and we had those crazy days too, where it would be nonstop and then dead (like valentines, new years eve, and the superbowl). I feel your pain. :smt022
It's an American event, much like Rome's Gladiator games where beefed up guys tackle each other in padded spandex and you hear two guys' voices that make you think you're smart because they point out the obvious.
