Very nice collection! The uk edge reviews had some cool mgs cover, you'll love them! I'll scan the one I have tomorrow, if you want...
Thanks for the update i really must get into this series i have mgs and twin snakes but cant just figure out how to play them lol, do i start with mgs or twin snakes ?
Same game, since twin snake is a remake, but if you want to get the best out of your games, try mgs first then the remake. As for the collection, dang! If there's one game i'd still collect (with zelda) that would be it, so much to get, so much great stuff, such a great serie, such a great art design. Congrats man.
Ouch! That cut pretty close to the bone for me. Anyway great collection man! Do you have the other two premium packages?
Thanks for the kind words... Um in response to Dvdmike, Definitly play MGS then the remake. The remake is great but it wont give you quite the same experiance as the original. MGS is an exellent and revolutionary game which lays the groundwork for the sequal MGS2 which I consider to be my favorite(Just my opinion not many people agree with me). In response to Unclejon, please do scan it Id love to see it. You hosers in the Uk get the best freaking mags. Im so jealous... Finally in response to Radiac, No I do not have the other premium packs. There are quite a few of them and I only have so much money. One day Ill have them all but not at the moment. I really want the Twin Snakes Premium Gamecube but unfortunatly they go for about $300 on the internet and I have no hookups in Japan.
I remember there being a life-sized figure of Solid Snake in my local GAME back when MGS2 was released, but I doubt it's still around - they've also had full scale models of Sam Fisher and a Helghast, which I know have definitely long since been sold to a collector in the area (who also works in a rival store just around the corner, funnily enough). P.S. That collection more than makes you worthy of being labelled as hardcore, though I've noticed a few items missing. For example, did you know the first-print PAL version of MGS2 came with a bonus "making of" disc? I'm sure the contents are probably the same as the Japanese edition, though if I was into Metal Gear collecting I'd never let anything slip through my net - not even something that small...
Didn't mean to . I envy those who have more stuff than me, too, so thats jealousy talking. Only thing i'm collecting now is anything in regards to Arc The Lad. I might get a hold of a few nice collectibles soon and then someday post pictures of my Arc shrine .
My collection is by no stretch of the imagination complete, this I know but I am trying... And IMO the hunt is the funnest part of collecting.
Hmm is it me or are you missing the official MGS guide by Prima, not sure if its hard to find or anything but if you have a tough time I can help, mine is in very good conditions, no rips or pages missing.
Your collection might not be complete, but it's still more than enough to prove you're seriously interested in everything to do with the MGS series. Maybe when it's complete (if it's ever possible, that is - bearing in mind that new titles are still being released!) then perhaps you could show off the results of your dedication to Hideo Kojima himself. Who knows, he might even offer to sign everything for you or even present you with some type of certificate to honour your efforts in preserving the francise. You could end up owning more than even Konami's own archive!
I may have missed it, but I didnt see a picture of this http://cgi.ebay.com/METAL-GEAR-SOLI...88QQihZ019QQcategoryZ3719QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem hope youve got some money to throw around.
Locutus, I send you a PM. There is a new special edition of famitsu with a Metal Gear Online demo disc: http://www.famitsu.com/sp/mgo/, you might be interested...
Very cool... Ive seen that mag on ebay a few times but never purchased it. As for the guides I dont have many of them, I figure Ill buy them as I come across them but they're not exactly on the top of my list of things to buy right now...
Nice collection mate. Have you seen this? http://pspupdates.qj.net/Limited-Edition-MGS-Portable-Ops-PSP-packs/pg/49/aid/71171
That is one hell of a collection. I am damn impressed. I think that's probably the best collection I've seen (one of them, anyway). What did you think of my Metal Gear history article in Go>Play? Oh, and I'm passing this thread link on to a colleague on GamesTM, since he likes interviewing big collectors. Leave your email or some contact details in the thread for him to get in touch.
Szczepaniak, That would be really neat, thanks! My email is kylemorse@comcast.net. That was a very nice article BTW. ---------------------- Huxley, Those PSP bundles are EXCELLENT! I preordered the $500 dollar one last night. I wish I could afford both though... ---------------------- All, I updated the gallery overview shots, and added a few recently acquired items at the end. Enjoy...
Though of you when I saw this one for sale here in Sweden http://www.tradera.com/auction/TV_spel___Dataspel/aid_36056527
