My Genesis has a problem with not displaying blue though the av port, and has a yellow tent. Is there anyone here I can pay to completely recap it? Its a VA2 revision, and I'd like a similar sound to that of the filterd mega amp. Here's a post I found on the Sega 16 forms in the mega amp thread.
"Quote Ace" "You don't need to install a Mega Amp into Genesis Model 1s that are VA6.8 boards or earlier. If you have a VA3 to VA6.8 board, you can just get better sound by replacing two ceramic capacitors on the pre-amp that make up the low-pass filter. To get the same amount of filtering as the filtered circuit, for instance, you will need to use 4700pF capacitors in place of the original 5600pF capacitors. VA0 to VA2 boards are a little more involved as it requires replacing the pre-amp resistors and capacitors as well as the resistors used as part of the volume control for the CXA1034."
I'm going to pay someone here to completely recap my genesis with the sound cap, and resister change. I'll pay you $25 to do this. I might also pay a few dollars extra for a blue led mod.

Ask in the WANT forum. Simply recapping the Sega Genesis model 1 takes at least an hour of labor without the highly specialized tools like a desoldering iron.
