Very cool. I have the soundtrack to the first Mortal Kombat game, it's awesome hehehe. Hey can you elaborate on the controllers? Like, have any pictures or anything? There interesting.
I have a load of Mortal Kombat Jamma boards, real and clones. Never seen the pads, I would also like to hear/see more about them.
I've got a lot of MK cards, surely over $200 worth in 1995. They don't appear to be worth anything so any offer that will get me to the post office would do
Oh he sold it, made quite the pretty penny as I recall. I really wanted it too, but the most I could go was about 500, and that was REALLY pushing it.
hm i thought that would be only for HIGH LEVEL pics...and i thought i couldn't dare to post there, with that crappy few items :\ and yes, i really want that award...but hey... going to make shots of the controllers today
As promised, here are the pics of the Kontrol Pads: Package internals The packed pad and the cards more detailed The pad itself, which is the same in Version 1 & 2, since the Pads are unused the buttons function like the day they were bought Various special buttons you know from other 3rd party pads like turbo, slowmo etc. but this pad has the four blue buttons around the standard buttons which are labeled SM1-4 for the caracters special move. And if you keep your eyes open, you'll see that the pad has the buttons of a SNES/SFC Pad!! Strange...i know, but it definetly is for MegaDrive/Genesis, since it has no plug for SNES/SFC. Strange strange world Here you can see the back of the controller where the cards are plugged in. Another interesting fact about this controller is, that the cards are labeled as "For SNES" but this was overpainted with a black feltpen! Anyways these pads really work on the MegaDrive/Genesis since my friend bought the same and he played them for some years. A photo of the last page from the packed "Strategy Guide" where you can see what these controllers cost me back in the days. 60$ for one Kontrol Pad...hummm That's all for now, hope you like the pics, and if you're interested in this RARE Kontrol Pad please message me with a serious price! so long, liquitt
Wow, the Kontrol pad's a pretty cool idea.....so you just plugin the cards and they'll do special moves at the push of those blue buttons?
This says the back of the package: Master almost every fighting move, Fatality, Babality, Animality, Pits, Friendship, Combo, and finishing moves for all 15 fighters including Smoke. Activate almost all the VS. codes at a touch of a button with the Mortal Kombat 3 Kontrol Pad! There were so many codes (over 250) we had to make 2 versions. Version 1 includes: Kards 1-3 with codes for Cyrax, Sektor, Stryker, Kabal, Kung Lao, Sheeva & Sony Blade. Version 2 includes: Kard 4-6 with codes for Sindel, Sub Zero, Liu Kang, Kano, Nightwolf & Jax. Just plug in the supplied Kontrol Kards and you're ready to play! You can purchase the Kard sets seperatly to upgrade your Version 1 or Version 2 Kontrol Pad to full power! Sold seperatly is the Bonus Kard Set which includes all the VS. codes, and the Shang Tsung & Smoke codes for Mortal Kombat 3
nice. i wonder what's the point of opening a box and breaking the seal if you're not gonna use it though. 0_o
I remember seeing something similar on the SNES for Street Fighter 2 Turbo, or it may have been Super Street Fighter 2. That would have been handy when playing Zangief - those SNES pads were thumb killers!
I had a Hi-rez Poster (on Hardwood Backboard) for MK4. Got it for free...(a kid won it at a videogame night at a videogame store) but i moved house and it flew off the back of the trailer... (i didn't pack it a friend did) I went back for it, and it was gone...
I love Mortal kombat so much, im in the process of getting all the kollectors edition Xbox/PS2 games right now, then mabey ill start collecting more
