Some years ago I bought a brand new (it is still in wraps) zelda 1 from a guy in Spain and paid quite some money. I also bought pinball and kung-fu and when I opened the pinball game I realized that the manual didn´t have the same quality like one I know from Sweden. You think I bought some fake re-issues or does the manual only consist of a paper in other parts of Europe?
It's a possibility that you might have acquired a bootleg version. Any pics? EDIT - I've also known of some videogaming hardware from one country in Europe being "slightly" different from one from another country (Super Nintendo from UK & Super Nintendo from France). That might also be a factor.
There are LOTS of cases of regional differences. All I could say is look at pictures of a normal one and see if you can see differences. I don't know that many bootleggers would go to the trouble of perfectly replicating boxes etc. You could always CAREFULLY open the cart if you have a gamebit driver, and check whether it is a Nintendo board, and whether it has a ROM or EPROM.
i know of some italian and spanish N64 games that they didn't have the same booklet as the game in germany...maybe it was the same with NES games...maybe you could post pictures? btw, 1000 postings
Indeed, exclusive versions (of both manuals, and even games) in one language happened frequently on many consoles. Oh, congratulations liquitt! You should've made the post in the announcements bit hehe Stop hijacking this poor person's thread!
Dunno about Spain, but in here Mega Drive and Saturn localized manuals were printed in bluish tones in regular paper, not the fancy colour print in glossy paper of the original manuals.
