Probably a little basic for most people here but I'm appealing to the nostalgic market.

Plus it's my first ever magazine and iPad app (usually do iPhone) so didn't put too much work into it incase it got rejected by Apple.

I'm hoping to turn each issue into a huge encyclopaedia of knowledge over time.

I don't have an iPad either. I've never seen my own creation on the actual hardware.

Just a bit. I have simulator and a few phone cam videos from my tester.

Hopefully I'll be able to pick an iPad up either at the end of this month or next.

 

Mind me asking, is that all native xCode, or are you using something like Phonegap or Titanium to develop with?

All native XCode and Objective-C.

I had a look at Titanium once but I didn't understand the thing at all. Never heard of Phonegap.

I much prefer doing things natively, easier to maintain control and I've being doing it since the birth of the App Store so seems silly to change now.

Best of luck with this, I've developed 6 native iPhone apps I've sold/still selling on the APP store and it's always nice to see other developers. I've stopped app development now though (thanks to Apple's arbitrary rules changing on a weekly basis OH, but I hope it does well for you.

Are you using a UIWebView to display the content? It's surprising just how much you can do with HTML in a WebView Controller :033:

 

UIScrollView with .PNG or WebView with PDF's.

I don't know any HTML code so it's a bit beyond me.

Been coding for iOS for 2 years now (20+ apps) without many problems. What issues did you have that made you stop?

I primarily know HTML/CSS etc so for me, I use Phonegap to develop my apps. It's nice to basically take stock HTML and turn it into native apps. I wish I had the time and resources to learn more native code and build apps truly natively...

Yeah there are so many coders out there fluent in all sorts of languages but taking the leap to XCode and iOS is a big one indeed.

Even after all of this time I still don't know what I'm doing half the time. Apple keep changing things, sometimes not for the better. I'm lucky in the sense that I have a good network of online friends who also do iOS dev so we're constantly helping each other out.

 

Not sure why but the codes keep coming up as incompatible with iPad?
And same for iPhone4???

 

I had a friend saying something similar yesterday. Although my statistics show that people have been using promo codes.

Same. I'm all for jailbreaking. You can do alot of cool shit with it, but then you get pirates who are fucking cunts and just steal everything. Its one thing to pirate from a corporation who won't miss the few thousand sales and thats bad enough. But they also steal from small indie developers who rely on the sales.
