I was looking through an old hard drive for some beta Shenmue videos yesterday when I came across a few of my old game midi songs that I made about 7 or more years ago. Most of them are in the Yamaha XG format so what I've done is converted them to MP3 so they sound how I intended them to sound. That's the problem with midi you see, different audio configurations, players or sound cards don't always give the intended playback :-( These tracks are by no means masterpieces but for an amateur such as myself they're pretty good  Here's the download links: Super Aleste - original midi format: General Midi. appreciate the mid. resistance midi. even I have a slight prob with the timing that was always one of my fav. chip tunez. like the amiga version in CUS format the most. so how did you made them? played all on the keyboard from scratch?
Nah, I could do the drums etc on the Yamaha but it's much easier to use sequencing software. For stuff such as the drums and so on I used Cakewalk. I also used Cakewalk for pasting everything together. The base track and main melody and sub melody tracks were all played on the keyboard separately then pasted together in sequencing software as separate tracks. Pitch bending was all done using the keyboard. One thing that I used to do was duplicate the main melody track then play it as tracks 1 and 2 with a slight delay which gave off excellent fake surround sound effects. You can notice this quite well in the midnight resistance track. Thanks mate. Yeah, there are about 50 or more tracks by me out there in cyberspace. many complete and total toss while some were quite nice as I got more in to it. Yakumo
Do I get a biscuit for knowing that the mystery Tecnosoft track is from the game $B?76e6LEA(B (Shin Kyu Gyoku Den)? Sounds a tad more rough then the music I know from the PC-98 version The Puyo Puyo 2 track is my favourite but I still prefer the arcade/megadrive version due to the more FM like melodies. Still nice melodies.
