Hey guys, lolzvid here, and i'm having problems with my newer PC... Today at morning, i booted up the computer and strangely it started the "Restoration of Initiation" part, when something is wrong with the computer. After checking all the computer and testing, there's a main problem that i can't fix: "Main cause of the problem--------------------------------------------------- The boot loader can not find the operating system. Repair Action: File Repair Result: Failed. Error code = 0x5 Elapsed time = 5601 ms Action Repair: Repair data repository start-up configuration Result: Failed. Error code = 0x490 Elapsed time = 156 ms" The laptop specifications are: Intel Core i5 2410M 500 GB of HD 6 GB of RAM HDMI 1.4 Windows 7 Home Basic LED 15'' Bluetooth 3.0 SRS Sound Thanks anything, lolzvid!
There's no viruses because days after this happen, i scanned the PC and it didn't have nothing of it. But there's an probability about faulty HD, or someone deleted by mistake some files from the PC... Oh snap.
tenta fazer uma restauração do sistema para o dia anterior. try doing a system restoration to the day before that.
Sounds like you've got a corrupt MBR. If you are running Windows 7, pop in your install DVD and click the repair option. Open Command-Prompt and type in BOOTREC /FIXMBR.
I already did this, but still oddly keeps with the same problem... Meanwhile, i`m running Hirens BootCD 12.5 and i think i`ll need of reinstalling Windows 7 without formatting... But it`s safe to do this? I`m trying to backup the files... Thanks!
You can backup your files still through command-prompt. I'd do that, and then format the drive, and remove all partitions. Then re-partition, and install 7 again. Also through CMD, try the BOOTREC /SCANOS and see if it can find Windows 7, if not then it's probably a different issue.
Just reinstall Windows 7 without partitioning or anything. It'll recognise the old install and move all those files to the C;// drive and put them in a folder called "windows.old"
Or less drastic and surprisingly effective in a lot of cases. Start Windows Restore and choose a backup time when the problem wasn't occurring.
