No, it also refers to the slips on the books too as they essentially serve the same purpose so it's either referenced as an obi and less commonly as a band or belt but those are other translations for obi either way. For games it's easier to differentiate them as games/cds having it as a spinecard as it doesn't actually wrap around the entire product like a belt. For a book, it does actually wrap around it, some books may also have the obi go completely around it instead of tucking into the slipcase or cover to prevent people from reading it. If you were to check listings on Amazon Japan for some guidebooks - I went off the top of my head and looked for the DEMENTO Official Complete Guide (デメント オフィシャル コンプリートガイド) and saw one pre-owned listing with "帯なし。2005年初版。" which essentially translates to "No obi. 2005 first edition print." Hopefully that makes sense! >_<; And also, do you have a full list of your collection or are you planning to do another video soon to show it in it's current entirety?
