Yeah so I felt like responding publicly, if you don't mind.

I've been coming to this site for a long time. I've never had a beef with anyone. I've done business with people here. I've donated. I've posted things I thought people would like. I've met them in person. I'm a member of the community.

Since I started working at GoDaddy I figured some people here did business with us, so I wanted to let them know they could reach out to me if they needed some extra help. Or just discounts. So that's pretty much my story from the first day I joined to when I posted that message.

Your response to that was was absolutely obnoxious. Same with Assember. I've been here over a decade and I think I've earned the right to tell you that you're out of line. And moderators, no less. You do not have any special right to sit me down in a chair and make me listen to your laundry list of complaints about a company you know damn well I have zero control over. All you did was hijack the thread, and it's just strange to me that you don't seem to see that at all.

What you did was selfish and out of line.

 

I partially agree with you that the way retro responded was a bit obnoxious, but I have to strongly disagree with you on rights. No matter how long you've been a member here you still don't have any right to tell a moderator that they are out of line. Assemblergames.com is essentially a service (and a fantastic one at that) that facilitates the gathering of information and people for free. I suggest that you think about this fact, appreciate it, apologise, and move on.

 

From where I see it, you were not willing to take criticism for a company you've only worked with for a year.

Get over it really.

 

To be fair, retro didn't really go about his response in a nice way.

 

Better things in life to worry about.

 

This is a place people come to stop worrying about other things in life, it's fun here. Having someone insult the company you work for so harshly detracts from that.

As you claim to work for Godaddy, you should have in mind that every GoDaddy employee represent his/her company. And it is the same for all the companies in the world. When one of my customer complains about our product, I will accept his/her complain even if I am not the responsible, as I am a part of my company. Then, Internally, I go to talk with the responsible, but only as an internal talk.

The way Retro or Assembler answered you may not be the nicest way. They probably had to do it in PM. And the way you start a new public bashing thread like this "My Response" thread isn't also a good option. As DeChief says, there is enought shit out of this forum and most of us come here to enjoy our video game passion without any troubles.

I don't like the way some moderator here always trolls thread, but Retro isn't one of them and he try to be precise and factual as much as possible everytime he answers to a thread.

So if you guys want to continue this talk, please do it in PM.

 

Where has this notion of having to be nice to everyone come from all of a sudden.

GoDaddy is a company which means that its open to all types of criticism whether it's good or bad. So what retro was being mean about a company who gave a shitty service to him and the fact that you have taken the response as seriously as you did and just threw it back in his face shows that you might need to grow up a bit.

 

Who cares. It's just a company... If you take offense to that, you probably should have a thicker skin.

Creating yet another thread to create even more drama is just as childish.

Thread was locked for a reason, and so will this be.
