If Sonic reeks of manufactured 90s coolness...then what is Bubsy the Bobcat? Just saying that Sonic was by far better than the bunch of wannabe mascots that appeared after him. There's a reason why Sonic games are still being made (however diluted his image may be) and nobody's ever heard of Aero the Acro-Bat.

Okay, just bought and played this game. I think it's fun, albeit the physics could use some ittttttty bittty tweaks, namely the acceleration, but beyond that, I'm a happy camper
I was so disappointed reading all the recent bad reviews of Sonic 4 that I played through Sonic 2 yesterday on my laptop just to remind myself how good Sonic used to be. That is a TERRIFIC game, IMO. The Oil Ocean Zone and Boss Battle music, the dazzling colors of the Casino Night Zone, the "just fast enough" speed, lots to explore, etc. And it's so tight, so linear, so perfect.
