My sisters not long got her 360 back about a month ago or maybe more but so far it has not died yet although i don't know if they fixed or replaced it. My 360 was out of warranty and i was fed up trying to fix it so i sold it on eBay for someone else to do something with it. Had the 360 not suffered so many problems I'd probably really like it over the Wii then PS3 but right now i like the Wii better
I'm pissed. I got an older system back, and it's all fucking scratched up. Never had that happen before.
My referb was my exact same console with a new motherboard. My first lasted a year and this one is getting close to a year.
I'll give this one a month. It sounds like shit. I don't mind though, this one is nasty and I don't want to clean it. Whatever, at least I can play Gears and get free live.
I had my original case with a new mobo inside. After mine died and it took about 3 weeks round trip, I got so into my PS3 that even when it came back it has been relegated to being a DVD player with the odd game of Fable II or Geometry Wars.
I got it back today, plugged it and 3 red rings right off the bat! That felt like a new record. Called them again, have to wait again.
thanks for posting this information... my next purchase will be something to save my 360 from death! Looks excellent!
let's play some gamecube bro! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zvTRQr7ns8 EDIT: I like to take my pants off when i play, i hope you don't mind bro.
With the new 360 dashboard you can copy games to the hard drive. You have to have the disc in the tray but it doesn't spin. I've been playing TF2 like that for a week now and the 360 doesn't heat up and it's also a lot quieter. Naturally the best solution would be to have a console that doesn't make you worry but, failing that, you might as well go for what other option is available. Take care, Bro
I gave up on M$. I sent my first one in and got another one. Well about three weeks after sending in my first one the second one went down. When I finally got both back at once it lasted 6 months and they both broke down within 4 days of each other. Sent them in for the second time one worked upon arrival the other RRoD out of the box. Sent that one back in but they made me send even my PSU in as it had to be my fault. Sent me a NiB console for replacement. I then quickly sold both of them before it happened again and i have never been happier. M$ really screwed thw pooch on this one. I quit buying SOny due to bad lasers in the PS2 and went XB. Well now I am anti-M$ as well. Looks as if I will not be getting any current gen consoles anymore. Oh well just as well I like my older one's much more anyhow.
Dead hardware sucks but your really missing out on a lot of great games. I've had 4 or 5 dead 360s and since I haven't had to pay anything to get replacements I'm fine because the games are so good.
I think it's absolutely disgraceful that new/repaired 360s are still dying. This should've been sorted within months or a year of launch.
for comparison, my friend's PS3 got a busted BD-drive and they gave him a BRAND new console without any hastle. I demand an Elite because I payed then the price of an elite now and apparently the replacement consoles are complete ass.
