Its been 3 weeks since I saw the movie, but I've been very busy lately so I haven't had the time to write all my toughts down. So where do I start? yeah, context: "allspark cube"? WTF? OK, Transformers was never an intellectual franchise, but a life-giving cube? whats that? the church's version of a robotic god? Seriously, remember the very first episodes of tranformers? the point was that both the autobots and the decepticons were looking for new sources of energy. Now correct me if I'm wrong but isnt that the topic of the decade? the lack of energy? In the 1st episode we saw megatron and his crew going to a oil platform and stealing oil. Why did the scriptwritters tought a dumb cube was a better idea than the decepticons coming to earth and stealing our energy reserves? Then there were the characters: is this pearl fucking harbor again? seriously, transformers was about bigass robots beating to the death, not dumb kids and the classic "MIB" government guys talking crap all day. I went to see a movie about explosions and robots, not a crappy soap opera, K? If I wanted to see another drama-action movie I would go somewhere else. I wouldnt be that pissed if it wasnt becos the "action" was like 20mins at most, while the rest was basically a mix of crappy dialogue and childish jokes, with the usual chessy love scene between that dumb skater and the slutty car thief. Everybody I've talked to tought the human characters were given too much time and that the movie was more about them than about the transformers. And whats up with jazz dying "just like that"? seriously, he doesnt do/says shit! just some words and gets broke in two by megatron?. What they run out of FXs budget? they could make a better fight? I just hope they dont make a movie with the Robotech/Macross or Mospeada franchise, cuz I dont even want to imagine what they'll do to those series. Anyway, I think this comic by VG cats says it all: EDIT: BTW I just got some news about two or more sequels being already made, with most of the cast and all. Guess it wasnt enough to ruin it for everybody once, they have to do it again and again...
