Each time i attach both my vmu and jump pack on my dreamcast controller, whenever my jump pack starts rumbling, my vmu beep and my game stops because it thinks my controller or vmy have been unpluged. However, if i only attach one of the two to my controller, then it's fine. what the hell happens?

Oh, and my VMU and Jump Pak are officials.

I use a Rumble pack or BuruBuru pack as they're called here with a 4 Meg memory card or official one all the time without any problems. maybe you guys have dodgy controllers? My rumble pack is official too.

It sounds like ports inside your controller where you plug the vmu into might be a bit loose. When the rumble pack shakes its causing the vmu to vibrate too & its losing connection with the port.

Try another joypad to see if thats the cause.

The controller is pretty easy to open, so it's worth a try. The hardest part is putting the thing together since you have to snake the controller cable around some support pins correctly.

I believe the VMU sockets are soldered directly to a sub PCB. There may be a plastic socket that the sub PCB uses to connect to the main PCB.
Either way, it's fun to open the controller just to see the inside. I do know that the main chip inside the VMU actually has the name "Potato" silkscreened onto it!
