Hi All, I didn't want to start several different threads for different questions, so perhaps i can ask them all here.... Anyone know of a good site to purchase screen protectors, namely ones large enough for laptops (12-15inch sizes) as my tablet pc is in dire need of one before i even comtemplate using it Secondly, my older laptop has started to give in, and the paint has worn thin in many area's...it somewhat resembles a nuclear blast... Any suggestions for what to do with the paint? Decal? Re-paint? Lastly,...and this is the long shot. Anyone know anything about (car) seat reupholstery? Cheers Ryan
Car seat upholstery? Ask around in the local auto parts store. As for repainting your laptop, it is totally not worth it. It will involve taking it completely apart just to have the plastic and not ruin the PCBs inside it. Lastly, 3M makes a good privacy screen protector for LCDs. Google it.
If it were my laptop, depending on how old it was and how bad it looked, I'd probably repaint it using KrylonI. If you're feeling especially brave, there is automotive paint. Plenty of people have repainted their laptops. Of course, you also run the risk of losing or breaking something. Laptops can be a bitch to put back together.
One suggestion before taking apart your laptop: do a long, good google on any disassembly guides or service manuals. They're around for quite a lot of brands, I think IBM and Compaq even give you the full service manual as a download, and there's an unofficial guide site for Toshiba's here. Silly question, will any screen protector work with a tablet pc...or do i need some sort of special one? also, i guess i can cut one to make it fit better? Ryan
