Unreal! Didn't know there was a laserdisc version of Myst planned, to be used in conjuction with the Genesis module of course (what Mega LD means.)

I've never heard of this before, this is pretty awesome but all that Pioneer stuff is hella expensive

Fascinating...hmmm, I wonder if the numbering started at 100, kind of unusual to have only seen two and they're sequentially numbered. I figured it wasn't unique since it didn't say 1 on of a kind and just really rare. Pioneer used to press some discs for testing but it look like it never got past that stage.

You'd expect a Mega LD to have higher quality than the Sega CD version (little known fact that the Sega CD discs could only hold 500 MB for whatever reason, a Mega LD could hold 560 or so I believe. Two-sided though)

540 for a Mega-LD according to Wikipedia on top of 60 minutes of analog audio/video.

Hello... I'm Tom Porter and I'm the one who bought Myst test B-2 110. Its very interesting LaserDisc because both sides are labeled "A" and are playable versions. I find this very unusual... been doing a lot of testing and cant find any differences to each side. I am going to make an official jacket for it. However, I will also be willing to sell for the price I paid... $2600. Its interesting and nice to 'complete' my collection... however i'm never going to strive to get 'everything'... if you have questions go ahead and contact me. Uploaded a small video portion of the prototype at my Youtube channel LaserActiveGuy -Tom

Also... I believe there are 5 copies from all the major research i've been doing. The B- series starts at 110. Photo doccumentation I have found confirms copies of 111 and 114. Also, there are rumors that "Pioneer Execs" have 2 copies... so that accounts for 112 and 113 and why no photos exist of those. Markings on the disc where it was pressed... I might be perswaded into believe 8 copies of Myst were pressed... but absolutly no more than that. I am sure there was at least one "A" series disc which is video parts only to line up programming to footage.

Also, I beleive I solved the MYSTery as to why it was not released... and it has bugs. The disc is CAV (30 minutes) and frame based... but according to counter information (and other stuff I wont reveal at the moment) it was programmed using 'time' or CLV based data. This could be because programmers never 'done' LD games before. The Time based programming is inpercise in comparison to 'frame data' so it could skip scenes occasionaly. However, the game is fully playable minus a few 'tollerable' glitches.
