Hey, I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out what in the world this weird NES controller cable is I found today. It is very similar to a Miracle Piano Cable, but it is definitely not a miracle piano cable.

Looks like an old Parallel port connector. Typically found on older PC's for printer hookups, etc

Yah, but why would the NES need such a cable?

Life Cycle is my bet, if it isn't for the Mirical Piano.

I had this same set of cables and another set with Sega Genesis-style plugs. Never figured out what they were and since I was pretty young they probably ended up in the garbage. Wondering what this is as well.

back then there were schematics and a windows driver (Direct Pad Pro IIRC) where you would hook up various controllers via the LPT port and you would use them as normal pc pads... I have built a similar interface for sony psx/psx2 pads, it worked perfect and even allowed analog mode. Playing on a pentiumII with a psx emu was huge back then LOL
So I guess those cables you mention are the same thing.
