http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Wii_Virtual_Console_-_Mario_64.jpg how does one explain this? the button layout is totally different to the n64 original :banghead: This is criminal!
I wouldn't trust wikipedia. Not unless Nintendo explains how some n64 games will work on the Wii controller.
Edge showed a box that was shown behind doors at e3 with plug in nes, snes, n64 and tg16 pads for the wii
That's easy. Replicate the C-Buttons on the right analog stick (ala GCN C-Stick) and stick Z on one of the shoulder buttons or on one of the four face buttons. I certainly hope Nintendo allows custom-mapping of the controller, though.
alternate setups to the original are of course possible, no one said the button count isn't there. The only issue for me -and for many others surely- is the fact that when I play F-zero X or Zelda, or Mario 64 my fingers go for the C-buttons naturaly. I was hoping for a 1:1 experience for all the virtual console games, when compared to their originals.
I wouldn't complain just yet. First of all, they might release the corresponding controllers and it will be up to you whether you want to get them or not. Second, if they don't I'm sure someone ealse will. Problem solved. Worst case scenario - You'd have to mod a controller yourself.
